Initiatives permitting full-strength alcohol in grocery stores abandoned

Blake Harrison said yesterday that he has given up on his two ballot initiatives that in part would have allowed grocery stores to sell full-strength liquor, wine and beer by January 2011.

Harrison, the Democrat candidate for Colorado House District 7, is dropping the initiatives after he was unable to get the necessary support.

Harrison had until Aug. 2 to turn in approximately 76,000 signatures to the Secretary of State to get the measure on this year’s ballot.    - More -
