Denver at-large councilman Doug Linkhart will file paperwork on Wednesday for a 2011 mayoral run.
Linkhart announced his intentions in a press release today. Linkhart joins the other announced candidate for mayor, James Mejía, chief executive of the Denver Preschool Program. A long list of other potential mayoral candidates are said to be eyeing a run, including Councilman Michael Hancock and State Sen. Chris Romer.
Linkhart was elected to one of two at-large seats on the 13-member council in 2003. Prior to his tenure on the council, Linkhart was a state senator for eight years and a state representative for two years. – More -
