Scott Tipton – earmarks are bad… except for this one

The Pueblo Chieftain reports that Congressman-elect Scott Tipton, fresh from trips to Washington, D.C., to learn the ways and means of the House of Representatives, said Thursday that he has a clear focus as a federal legislator.

"Jobs and the economy," Tipton said after a visit with the editorial board of The Pueblo Chieftain. "Let's get people back to work."

He said any representative — Democrat or Republican — has to take care of his constituency. Even though he is against congressional earmarks, spending items tagged to larger appropriation bills, he admitted that the one that funded the Arkansas Valley Conduit to deliver clean drinking water to valley residents was worthy.

  1. All earmarks are bad except the ones for your district. New face, same old politics.
